The Pink Toe Tarantula ( Avicularia avicularia ) is a tree-dwelling spider native to South America. It is distinguished by its dark body and legs covered in pinkish-tipped bristles.
 Docile and agile, it prefers to climb and weave webs at height rather than dig. It requires a vertical terrarium with good ventilation, humidity of 70-80% and a temperature between 22 and 26 °C. Its diet consists mainly of insects such as crickets and cockroaches. Not very aggressive, it can however project stinging hairs if threatened.
