The Emerald Tree Skink ( Lamprolepis smaragdina ) is a spectacular arboreal lizard native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It is distinguished by its bright green color and glossy scales, giving it a very recognizable "emerald" appearance. This skink can grow to a size of 30 to 40 cm, with a long, thin tail and a slender body. It is primarily insectivorous, feeding on small insects, arthropods, and sometimes fruit. Agile and excellent climbers, Emerald Tree Skinks spend much of their time in trees and bushes, where they can easily camouflage themselves thanks to their coloration. Aside from their striking beauty, they are also known for their rather calm, albeit shy, demeanor and their ability to move quickly on vertical surfaces.
