The Leachianus Island Cross gecko is a cross between different localities of Rhacodactylus leachianus , usually between populations from Grande Terre (GT) and smaller islands (Island). This type of cross aims to combine the large size of GTs with the varied patterns and colors of the island forms.
 GTs are often more massive and robust, while island forms have more distinctive hues and patterns. Crossbreeding produces unique individuals with a good balance between size and appearance , while maintaining good adaptability in captivity.
