The Tokay gecko , known scientifically as Gekko gecko , is a nocturnal lizard native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. It is one of the largest geckos, usually measuring between 30 and 40 cm, but some individuals can reach up to 60 cm.
 The Tokay gecko is easily identifiable by its robust body and vibrant coloration. It has a gray or blue base color with bright orange or red spots on its back. Its distinctive appearance and large size make it a popular reptile in terrarium keeping, although it requires careful attention.
