Orange springtails ( Folsomia candida orange variety) are small, detritivorous arthropods commonly used in bioactive terrariums. Their primary role is to help break down organic waste, such as dead leaves, mold, and feces, thus contributing to a healthy and balanced environment.
 They prefer a moist substrate and reproduce quickly in stable environments. In addition to being efficient cleaners, they also serve as a food source for some species of small reptiles and amphibians.
