Phidippus regius – Jumping spider

The jumping spider ( Phidippus regius ) is a curious and docile species, prized for its intelligence and varied colors. Males are black with white patterns, while females can be gray, orange, or red. It actively hunts rather than weaving a web.

In captivity, a well-ventilated terrarium measuring 20x20x20 cm with branches and hiding places is sufficient. It requires a temperature of 24-28°C and a humidity of 50-70%. Its diet consists of live insects. Although it tolerates handling, it can jump abruptly if stressed. Its lifespan is 1 to 3 years.
